HNBR is a type of synthetic rubber. It is made by adding hydrogen to nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR).
NBR is a common rubber that contains acrylo-nitrile content which gives it good chemical resistance. However, NBR is prone to swelling and poor aging resistance from heat and oils.
By adding hydrogen, the double bonds in the NBR are saturated. This process is called hydrogenation. Hydrogenation improves the heat and oil resistance of the rubber.
HNBR has better physical properties compared to NBR. It has high tensile strength and is more resistant to compression set. It can withstand higher temperatures for longer periods without deteriorating.
HNBR has excellent resistance to petroleum oils, greases and many chemicals. It is not attacked by aliphatic, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
Due to these advantages, HNBR is often used in oil seals, gaskets, hoses, O-rings and other mechanical rubber products that require heat and chemical resistance. It is commonly used in automotive and industrial applications.
Packaging And Storage:
Packed in cartons lined with plastic bags, 20kg/box. Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated place, away from strong oxidants. Avoid contact with strong acid, alkali and metal lead. Transport as non dangerous goods. Handle with care to prevent package damage. During transportation, it shall be rain proof, moisture -proof, sun proof and prevent acid, alkali and other impurities from penetrating
